T.Silk®: inspired by nature, perfected by technology

Nature, in the course of its evolution, has developed a perfect material to protect a small insect in the very delicate phase of its transformation. To transform an intuition into a product, it took the experience, passion and innovative strength of three generations who made silk their reason for living.
Padding in organic and ecological silk

T.SILK®- thermo silk
T.Silk®-Thermo Silk is the most natural yet sophisticated textile imaginable. Ideal for both household fabrics and outdoor clothing, it always ensures maximum comfort. T.Silk® is hypoallergenic and perfectly compatible with our skin, and it is able to maintain heat and transpirability.
Unmatched wellness
Hypoallergenic and perfectly compatible with men’s skin, it retains heat and promotes breathability, for unparalleled well-being. Like a silk cocoon , it offers warmth, thermoregulation, protection and lightness.

The extraordinary properties of silk
Insulation
Silk fibers have a very low thermal conductivity coefficient. The large amount of air trapped in the fibers provides exceptional thermal insulation.
Lightness
Silk is the lightest of the natural fibers.
Hygroscopicity
Silk’s high capacity to absorb and retain water is far superior to that of other fibers such as cotton, cellulose acetate, polyester and nylon.
Tenacity
The elongation at break of degummed silk falls in the range of 15-35%, significantly higher than that for cotton and Kevlar, and comparable to that of nylon.
Resistance to bending
Under repeated bending, silk fibers exhibit a resistance between those of wool and cotton.
Resistance to twisting
Similar on the average to wool and cotton.
Resistance to wear
By subjecting the fibres to repeated bending, silk shows an intermediate behaviour between that of wool and cotton.
Elasticity
Silk has excellent flexibility which allows the fibres to withstand deformations of 20/25% of their initial length. Up to deformations of -2%, silk completely recovers its size if the stress is eliminated. The fibres are completely elastic.
Other characteristics
Heat resistance: silk can withstand temperatures as high as 140°C for prolonged periods; it decomposes at 171°C. Silk fibers are highly crease resistant thanks to their resiliency and ability to recover from other types of deformation.
