T.Silk Padding and the environment…let's start with the little things

Today, April 22, 2020, on its 50th Anniversary, T.Silk with its line of natural silk padding and its products from the Setino and SilkGenera lines, wants to remember and participate in Earth Day , the world earth day . Especially in these times, safeguarding the environment and respecting it represent a guideline to follow, remember and promote.

During a UNESCO conference in 1969 in San Francisco, (USA), a peace activist, John McConnell, proposed a day in which to focus attention on “ mother Earth ”, the concept of social peace, economic peace and environmental peace. Earth Day was born on 22 April 1970 from the protocol created by McConnell and signed by the then Secretary General of the United Nations, U. Thant.

Since that year, every year, one month and one day after the spring equinox, represents a moment of reflection on the problems of our planet in terms of pollution, ecology , respect for ecosystems, reflecting on actions aimed at the conservation of resources, capable of eliminating the effects of human activities, in search of a TRUE sustainability.

The action of each of us, in addition to that of placing ever greater and growing attention to respecting our planet , cannot but start from small things, even more so in a period where it seems that nature has revolted against a system of indiscriminate and distorted exploitation of the limited resources of our planet.

Daily behaviors, including small consumer choices, represent what is required of us, every day, to be able to reach a real awareness of how immense this problem is. T.Silk Padding uses only natural silk fiber , a fiber that in addition to guaranteeing very high levels of performance in terms of heat retention and breathability , seems to have been created specifically by nature to fully respond to the demands in terms of sustainability.

Choosing and favoring a product that contains silk padding, rather than synthetic and artificial padding derived from chemicals or petroleum, rather than unnatural feathers, means, in your own small way, recognizing the value of a daily fight against pollution from fibers that suffocate our seas with their microplastics , it means recognizing the value of naturalness , biodiversity and respect for the environment .

Choosing a silk product means honoring the pact that since birth binds us with our "Mother Earth" on Earth Day and the other 364 days of the year.
