Torsional stiffness
Our Silk has values that are on average similar to those of other natural fibres, such as wool and cotton.
Insulation
The air that remains trapped inside the amorphous areas of the fibrils allows thermal insulation. Silk is a unique fiber because it is also an electrical and acoustic insulator.
Flexibility
Silk has excellent elasticity. It can withstand deformations of 20/25% of its initial length, up to deformations of -2%.
Hygroscopicity and drying time
The high capacity to absorb and release water and water vapor is superior to that of other fibers, even technical ones with a very low drying time.
Finesse
Silk, among natural fibers, is the one with the greatest fineness. It presents itself as a natural microfiber of unparalleled lightness.
Bending stiffness
That of our silk is relatively high and is greater than that of both wool and acetate fibres.
Longevity
Thanks to the very high quality of the raw materials and the great care and attention used during the manufacturing process, our Silk is very durable.
Wear resistance
By subjecting the fibre to repeated bending, silk shows a behaviour intermediate between that of wool and cotton.
Resistance and tenacity
Silk fibers have a higher breaking strength than Kevlar and nylon. Silk is capable of absorbing high levels of energy and force without fraying.
