T.Silk silk padding is certified by OEKO-TEX® Standard 100. Clothing items, quilts or duvets for beds , and every other accessory that uses T.Silk padding have a reliable certification in the Textile field.

What is OEKO-TEX®

The International Association for Research and Testing in the Field of Textile Ecology (OEKO-TEX®) is a group of 16 independent research institutions in the textile field and Analysis laboratories situated in Europe and Japan.

The OEKO-TEX® eco-label is a world leader in the textile sector and synonymous with maximum product safety: a purchase decision-making tool that, through objective certification, provides the consumer with a certainty of the quality of textile products and their components.

What is the OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certification

The OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certification is an independent testing and certification system with assessment criteria harmonised internationally, test methods developed on a scientific basis, company audits and supply chain traceability that involves all products in the textile field: from raw materials, to semi-finished products and finished products at all processing levels, as well as the accessory materials used.

The current list of types, limits and requirements of substances analysed covers:

• Specific legal regulations (such as azo colourants, formaldehyde, pentachlorophenol, cadmium, nickel, etc.);
• Numerous chemicals which, even if they are not yet legally regulated, are hazardous to health according to scientific research;
• Updated requirements of the various annexes of the European Chemicals Regulation REACH as well as of the ECHA SVHC Candidate List;
• Requirements from the US Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) regarding lead.
• Numerous classes of substances that are hazardous not just for man but also for the environment.

This system utilises different levels or classes of certification according to the final consumer and the level of direct contact with the item (lower age and greater contact with the skin = stricter human/ecological requirements to comply with):

• • Class I: articles for babies and toddlers up to 3 years of age;
  • Class II: articles used in contact with the skin;
  • Class III: articles not used in contact with the skin;
  • Class IV: materials for furnishing/decoration.

Speaking of padding certainly means talking about the beating heart of any product, but it is also an element that, being hidden inside, is not immediately perceived. A guarantee of quality of a garment, of a product, cannot ignore its heart.

Cosetex and T.Silk are certified by the OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 class II certification, which requires even stricter and more thorough parameters and tests.
