T.Silk®: more Silk than Silk itself

All the characteristics of the natural silk fibre are enhanced and strengthened by Cosetex's know-how and by the innovative technological and transformation processes that led to the conception and patenting of T.Silk®. T.Silk® is the revolutionary padding material that ensures unparalleled comfort
One of the fundamental elements that define comfort is “thermo-physiological comfort”, which represents the interrelation between thermal resistance (capacity to retain heat) and the evaporative resistance of the fabric (breathability). This value is called IMT and is between 0 and 1. A value of 0 implies that water vapour cannot get through the material. A material that has an IMT value of 1 has the thermal resistance and water vapour resistance of a layer of air of equal thickness.
T.Silk®. All the warmth and breath of silk
hanks to its 100% Silk composition and formulation, which is 100% natural, T.Silk® has a very high water vapour permeability index (IMT): between 0.80 and 0.90 (considered in a range of min.0.00 to max. 1.00), which is difficult to find in other materials, even extremely technical ones. T.Silk® also shows a high thermal resistance value in very low weight padding, which makes it possible to produce extremely light and soft garments. T.Silk® combines high breathability with an incredible capacity to retain heat.
IMT* | |
---|---|
T.Silk® | 0,84 |
Wool | 0,36 |
Polypropylene | 0,49 |
Artificial microfibers | 0,55 |
Cotton | 0,43 |
*The thermal-physiological comfort index or IMT is determined by the relation between RCT and RET – according to the Skin Model analysis method, UNI EN ISO 31092:1996 and ASTM F1868
T.Silk®. Just the comfort you need
T.Silk® is padding that innovates the perception of comfort by guaranteeing incredible cooling and heat release times compared to the best padding currently on the market. However, T.Silk® goes further by exploiting the characteristics of the perfect thermoregulatory element of its protein component (Fibroin), which the T.Silk® innovation makes more available. It is possible to achieve perfect modulation and balance with respect to the production of body heat and external weather conditions. There is greater release in case of excessive accumulation resulting from an increase in physical activity, or greater retention in case of adverse external weather conditions. A natural internal laboratory capable of guaranteeing the level of comfort that our body requires.
